Life Drawing Group meets Tuesdays 6:00-8:30pm in Studio #18/19. $15 for drop-in. This is not a course with instruction, but an open studio approach sharing an art model. For high school age and up, figure drawing is great portfolio preparation for art school, and important for working and amateur artists. Life Drawing is a classical practice that artists have used for centuries. Drawing models in quick gesture poses, leading into longer poses, allows the hand to warm up and create loose and free drawings. Focusing on composition and line quality, drawing from life is a quintessential way to improve one's drawing skill.

Sketchyjunction meets every sixth Wednesday evening. Admission fee is $10. Ages 16 and up only. Cash bar available. Please be prepared to tip the models. We bring in true characters and performers, not just subjects. Past sessions have featured clowns in corsets, zombies, pirates, and steampunks. Most models are clothed to semi-clothed—there is a high potential for partial nudity at any given session. Think of it as art class held in an atmosphere of boozy mayhem with great music, live entertainment, and fun door prizes.
