Figure Drawing and Painting with Rob Zeller — This course is designed to give artists of all levels a strategy in approaching drawing and painting of the human form. While the techniques taught will be classical in nature, there will be room for creativity. We begin by learning to convert the great masses of the body into specific shapes, using both linear contour and structural building blocks. Different types of classical proportions will be discussed, as well as different methods of measuring in a perceptual manner. One of the main goals of this course is to teach the artist to see the body as having architectural structure, and understanding how to translate that concept into 2-dimensional form.
